Antique Topaz and Pearl Drop Pendant by Barnet Henry Joseph SOLD
A rare gold and topaz pendant by Barnet Henry Joseph signed BHJ with gold rope chain.
This is a high quality Art Nouveau gold pendant topped with a decorative bow and ties cross detail. The open pear-shaped pendant has a high relief border with open trellis centre set with 3 blue facet-cut topaz stones. Suspended below is a lovely natural seed pearl droplet.
The pendant has a large size bale and is coordinated with a modern 18" 9ct gold rope chain.
Signed with Maker’s mark BHJ & and 9ct.
B.H. Joseph & Co Ltd, 1865-1929 were jewellery manufacturers during the Art Nouveau period. Barnet Henry Joseph and his brother Henry Joseph commenced the business in 1865 in Birmingham. When Henry retired (1869) it was succeeded by another brother Joseph Joseph.

The 18in rope chain is stamped 9ct Gold (46cm).
The pendant is a superb example of genuine Victorian Art Nouveau English jewellery.
