Art Nouveau Hallmarked Silver and Enamel Pendant c1909 SOLD
Superb Art Nouveau Silver Pendant decorated with vibrant iridescent blue guilloche enamel and marks for 1909 and initials C.P.
A large size pendant, most probably designed for Liberty & Co at the time. The makers marks C.P. attribute this piece to Charles Peach of Augusta Street, Birmingham. This mark was registered in 1909 and suggests the pendant to be one of his earliest works.
The fancy edge of swirls in stylised waves and curling tendrils surround the central three enamel sections.
The three sections and lower small band are enamelled in shades of blue, turquoise greens and browns. The circular spacer in deepest blue enamel is perfect and suspended below is the drop with also the deepest blue enamel.
In excellent condition with only a couple of tiny blemishes to the silver and no damage or cracks to the enamel. The chain may be a later replacement.
