Charles Horner Sterling Silver and Enamel Butterfly Brooch c1919 SOLD
An exquisite Art Nouveau Silver and enamel butterfly brooch by Charles Horner.
This beautifully crafted large and rare butterfly is in perfect condition with no damage or wear to the enamel and is possibly the largest butterfly made by CH.
The enamelling is the deepest electric blue you will ever see, and this is complimented by the vibrant greens. In close-up there is an incredible depth to the butterfly's wings where the veins can be seen beneath the beautiful enamelling.
Measuring: 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 ins
(57mm x 42mm).
Full and clear Chester Silver Hallmarks for 1919 and initials C.H. for Charles Horner.
In excellent original condition with no damage to the enamel and strong fully working "C" clasp.
